Kick the Dock - swingová tančírna

We invite you to our new swing dance party! The name is derived from a classic dance move called "Kick the Dog," signaling that Jazz Dock will be swinging to the rhythm of the good old swing! The dance parties will take place once every two months, and members of the Zig Zag dance school will guide you through the world of swing. The musical accompaniment will be provided by the fantastic Jakub Zomer Sextet!

"Swing is a collection of dances that developed alongside swing music in the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s, primarily including lindy hop, charleston, balboa, and shag, though some forms are even older. The most famous swing dance, lindy hop, originated in Harlem and remains popular to this day. Most of these dances have African American roots, though some also emerged from other cultural traditions." Outside of the USA, the term swing is used for dances from this era, such as lindy hop, charleston, shag, and balboa, and often includes West Coast Swing, East Coast Swing, jive, rock 'n' roll, modern jive, and other dances developed after the 1940s. In Europe, boogie woogie and acrobatic rock 'n' roll are sometimes included in the swing dance category.

Admission for sitting 550 CZK, for standing 300 CZK. It is no longer necessary to reserve a seat when purchasing a seated ticket. To reserve a specific seat, please write your request in the note when purchasing the ticket. Fulfillment of the request cannot be guaranteed.

The club will be adapted for dancing with a reduced number of seats only on the sides of the club.
