Los Quemados
In February 2025, Prague fusion band Los Quemados will release their fifth album Perfect Sphere, released on Alexey Charvat's jazz label Amplion Records, which was recorded in the summer of 2024 in Michal Šembauer's studio. The band of bassist Filip Spaleny was formed in 2008 and has played many concerts in the Czech Republic and Europe, and above all four albums released on the Hevhetia label - African Sailor (2010), Sirius (2012) and Circling Bird (2015), Duck Night (2019), which was released on the Slovak label Hevhetia Records. Los Quemados present interesting, original and energetic compositions by Filip Spálený and Jakub Doležal, Jan Balek and Petr Mikes in the style of jazz, funk and fusion. The instrumental prowess, energy and overall interplay of the band is at a really high level. The musicians cite as their inspiration names such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane, Michael Brecker, Chick Corea, Michael Jackson, Victor Bailey, Vincent Colaiuta, Dave Weckl, Weather Report, King Crimson, Frank Zappa, Tower of Power, Pat Metheny and Tribal Tech.
