Petr Nohavica "Glance"
Petr Nohavica is a drummer and author who has made his mark on the Czech music scene not only as the leader of his own project Glance, but also as a sideman in projects across genres, such as Winterspring (Allison Wheeler Quartet), B/Y Organism, Bardo, Tour Guide Blonde, Drifter Days (Tom Smith/Daniel Bulatkin). He has also worked with other artists such as Lukáš Oravec, Luboš Soukup, Robert Balcar and Tal Arditi etc. The Glance project is the result of several years of composing. For the recording of the album of the same name Petr Nohavica invited the top Czech jazz musicians, guitarist David Dorůžka, pianist Jiří Levíček, saxophonist Cyrille Oswald and double bassist Jaromír Honzák. The album also features vocalist Allison Wheeler. The album was released on Bivak Records label and appeared in a wider nomination for the Anděl award in the jazz category in 2024.
After a short break, the Glance project is coming back with a new line-up. The leader Petr Nohavica and Allison Wheeler remain in the band, and the band will be completed by young but well-known faces of the scene, guitarist Martin Hrubec, saxophone player Nela Dusová and double bassist Luan Goncalves.
