SILVESTR V JAZZ DOCKU:Futur Swing:Charlie Slavík Revue

SILVESTR V JAZZ DOCKU
Futur Swing
Charlie Slavík Revue

Tuesday 31/12/2024 from 21:00

Come celebrate New Year's Eve and New Year's Day at the Jazz Dock! Great musical entertainment will be provided: gypsy jazz, swing, blues and rock n roll until late into the night! The New Year's Eve special concert will include something for everyone. Two great musical groups will provide the entertainment:

Futur Swing (gypsy jazz & swing)

Futur Swing's repertoire is inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt (1910-1953). They approach these now almost a hundred-year-old compositions with improvisational freedom, playfulness and humor, pushing the traditional gypsy-jazz idiom in new directions (sometimes bordering with the avant-garde), but also with the intent of maintaining the more conservative aspects of the music. Five acoustic instruments (guitar, banjo, violin, bass and saxophone) create a colorful sound collage with which the band works through arrangements, instrumentation and improvisation.

Charlie Slavík Revue (blues)

The Charlie Slavík Revue has been successfully and with great acclaim for more than ten years presenting rock n roll and blues in all shades of these enchanting genres to both domestic and European audiences. The music of this quartet is uncompromisingly pulsating, spontaneous, played with unrestrained energy. The predominantly original repertoire is a characteristic feature of CHSR performances. Charlie Slavík is a composer, a lyricist, and the most-recognized harmonica player in the Czech Republic. In 2013, he became the only Czech in history to participate in the prestigious international blues competition IBC in Memphis, where he advanced to the semifinals. His ability to use instruments across genres is evidenced by the number of musical projects, on which he recorded as sideman. He performs with a number of domestic and foreign bands not only in Europe, but also in the USA—and he also has many film music recordings to his credit. He is the corporate player of the German company Seydel, the oldest manufacturer of harmonicas in the world.
